The Eastview High School campus offers an ideal location for a marching festival with its vast acres of field space for warm-ups and close proximity to the performance site. There is plenty of parking for spectators and the early fall weather can't be beat.
Our goal is to give you the absolute BEST festival experience, whether that means offering you the best judges in the upper midwest to provide early season feedback, or if it means providing the best critique meal you've ever experienced. We will do our best for you!

Come watch the Mankato 77 Lancers perform in the parade at the Minnesota State Fair. Stick around at the fair to see them perform for the KARE11 tPM newscast live from the fair.
We need 6 volunteers to chaperone the kids on the bus, and walk along with the parade with waters in case the kids need it,. If you sign up as a chaperone, you will receive free admission to the fair!

We need help measuring the kids for the bibs they wear under their uniforms. A few people experienced at this will be there, but we need about 4 more for each day to help out. Helpers are needed from 4 to 8 PM on both August 4 and August 5.

We need volunteers to help serve the band members on their dinner breaks for week 2 of spat camp. The meals are all planned out already and we simply need 6 people each night to help them get their food on their plates. If you've always dreamed of being a high school lunchroom helper, this is your chance to shine!

We need help building rolling staircases for the 2025 season field props at Mankato East High School. A prototype has already been built and approved by the directors, so we have a model to work off of. Lumber and hardware will be purchased by the Lancer Parent Association, so we just need you to show up with whatever carpentry tools you might be able to bring.

Net proceeds from the show support Kiwanis youth projects including Kiwanis Camp Patterson on the shores of Lake Washington, which annually hosts more than 2,500 children during the camping season. Proceeds also support the '77 Lancers Marching Band.
Over 63,000 visitors have attended the Thunder of Drums during its 32-year run.
