Good Morning Everyone! What an evening last night! The Race is off and running for 41st edition of the Mankato 77 Lancers Marching Band! What a special week it has been to watch all the Lancers work each day and with every rep improve. Seeing the smiling faces and hearing the laughter after performances from the students was awesome! I can’t wait to see the Lancers in Lake Crystal this evening!
There are so many so let’s jump into it.
First our final snack thank you’s for Spat Camp snacks go out to Jill Steinborn, Heather Thielges, Sarah Kenward, Ann Haggerty, Jill McGraw, Paul Johnson, Connie Oleson, and Jennifer Ceminsky. I’ve said this about every day this week but the students have loved having these snacks to help them power through the day. Thank you to everyone who has donated this week!
Thank you to all our Meet the Lancers volunteers who helped set up, serve, and clean up for the meal. This is the focal point of the Lancers Parent Association part of the evening and your help in all areas is truly appreciated. A HUGE thank you to Flexible Plastics of Mankato for donating the meal through Vernon Center Meat Market, what an amazing meal! Also, to 2 Pins Bakery, by Tony Friesen for the 87 dozen cookies which was the perfect complement to the meal!
Thank to our apparel table help, we sold a lot of merchandise which is great because now we will see it out in the community! Next to our street crew help who set up and took down all the street signs for closing down Hoffman Road. Finally, to Mankato Public Safety for helping close down Hoffman Road but also for helping one our Lancer fans. I hope with their swift attention to the fan’s medical needs it will get him back out supporting the Lancers soon.
Thank you to all the Lancer parents who support their kids in this endeavor of participating in Lancers and getting them to and from rehearsals! Your support to your Lancer makes a big impact on their season!
Thank you to all the Lancer extended families and fans! The best fan support there is in the Mankato community!
The next thank you is to Jen Olson who led the uniform fitting for the Lancers. She had a great group of volunteers over the last month and early this week to make sure the Lancers look as good as they sound!
My last bunch of thank you’s go out to the Lancers Parent Association Board members. Heidi Bednarchuk, Kim Schanbacher, Lori Maday, Lynn Waterbury, Jon Wendinger, Jen Besel, Justin Clifton, and Michael Menne. Thank you for all the hours you have put in this week during Spat Camp and for leading all the different areas last night for Meet the Lancers making it a success!
Pie in the Park
Well it’s time to enjoy the season for a week or so now. The next big event for the Lancers will be our annual Pie in the Park concert on June 25th. It will showcase the Mankato Municipal Band, 77 Lancers Cadets, and end with the 77 Lancers Marching Band concert performance. There will be a hot dog/brat meal served that night along with pie and ice cream.
More information on that will be coming out later this weekend.
I hope to see everyone tonight in Lake Crystal! Enjoy your day!
