Good Morning Lancers and Families! Welcome to Spat Camp Week!!
Today marks the beginning of Spat Camp that culminates on Thursday evening with Meet the Lancers. The students will be putting in a lot of work this week and I can’t wait to see the 2019 Lancers show “The Race” out on the street. I wanted to touch base on a couple things this morning with everyone.
Volunteering & Snacks
I want to thank everyone who has signed up for volunteering at Meet the Lancers and providing snacks during Spat Camp. There are still plenty of spots open so please check those out.

Parade Chaperone sign ups begin today! Attached to the email is the basic description of what chaps are expected to do before load up, at the parade site, and unload. It is truly a great experience to share with your Lancer so please consider helping out this season! This is a first come first serve sign up so please sign up soon if you want to help out!
Spat Camp Meals
I’ve had a couple people reach out to get clarification on meals this week. Breakfast and lunch are served through ISD77. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:30 every morning. Lunch is served from 11:00-12:30 every day. You can send a lunch with your Lancer if you choose not to have them eat lunch from the school. Suppers WILL NOT be served this season because of rehearsals ending at 6:00 pm. Snacks that are being donated by families will be served during lunch time and then around 4:00 pm each day. The Lancer Parent Board will have a couple coolers of ice water available each day for Lancers to fill their water jugs. There will also be a couple of coolers of Gatorade donated by Pepsi of Mankato available for the Lancers to rehydrate themselves during the day as well.
Final uniform fittings will start today at Spat Camp. Please bring your marching shoes with you today and every day this week. For those of you who ordered shoes last week, the shoes arrived and will be ready for today's rehearsal. Please bring $40 with you to rehearsal.
Jen Olson will be leading final fittings and your help in remembering your shoes will get things off on the right foot!
Raffle tickets will be available every day in the Lancer Parent Board room #104. The room is located in the opposite hallway from where the gym is located. We will have signs up to help you find your way! The Parent Board room will be manned by a member of the Parent Board during every hour of Spat Camp this week. Besides having tickets available gloves will be available for purchase there along with some Lancer apparel. Please stop in and say “Hi” anytime during the day, we would love to meet and talk with you about Lancers!!
The website has been relaunched and is live!! https://www.77lancers.com/ is the place to go to get ALL your information about Lancers! Look there every day this week with daily blogs about how Spat Camp is going and for more information about the upcoming parades and performances!
Finally, I would like to invite any and all parents and families to come and watch what your Lancer is doing each day. If they are outside practicing please come and watch from the sidelines and see the Lancers improve with each rep they take. It truly is an amazing thing to watch! I will admit it is the one perk of being on the Parent Board and being at rehearsals each day is that I get to take many moments to watch our kids work together as a team and put such a great show out on the street every year! So, take 15 minutes just one day and come and watch!
On Your Mark…
Again, I want to thank everyone who has helped get the Lancers to this point in the season. This week is going to go by in a blur so every night support your Lancer and help them refresh and recharge for the next day! While this season is “The Race” make sure to take some time and enjoy every moment!
The green flag is about to drop…and I can’t believe I’m saying this….but, BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY, LET’S GO RACING!!!
